Chapter 4
_________________________
Warning! This chapter could possibly contain manga spoilers including the introduction of a character from the manga and spoilers from No Regrets! If you do not wish to see that please stop here and READ THE MANGA!
Also, as I have failed to mention when this is this story is set approx 1 year before the fall of (spoiler?) wall Maria. So just to clear that up incase you were a little confused why people like Eren and the gang aren't around.
Also! (I know shut up right?) Levi is around 25 and you are around 21 so legal and all that stuff... To the story!

(In the capital)
"So, Levi and (First) are together?" A man in a long black cloak leaned against a brick wall. The light casted a shadow over his features. The young MP was shaking. The man that stood before him was incredibly intimidating, not to mention deadly. "That's what I saw s-sir! Yes." He stammered out.
"This could work out well for us..." The man mumbled aloud. "Sir?" The boy choked out.
"Levi and (First) the best soldiers humanity has to offer. Why don't we use their fondness of each other to our advantage?" He gave a wicked smile.
(Back to Survey Corps HQ)
"I insist (First)!" You whipped your head around. "Erwin I don't have time for a squad! I've told you this before!" You argued. It was true, this has to be the seventh time you've told the Commander you didn't want nor did you need a squad.
"It's too much work and prevents me from helping people because I'd have to stay with them!" Levi was leaning against the wall of Erwin's office, listening to the argument and forming an opinion. But to be fair, he was also, mainly, looking at you. He couldn't believe that you had fallen for him just as deeply as he'd fallen for you. He felt like he'd known you his entire life and couldn't believe he was even able to live without you by his side before.
"Oh come on (First) having a squad is fun!" Hanji chirped from the top of Erwin's desk, bringing Levi out of his daydream. Erwin looked quite annoyed with the fact that she was sitting on his paperwork but he made no attempt to move her off.
Truthfully you had a sneaky feeling those two were secretly dating but you couldn't be sure. Of corse, things like that are just a distraction in the Survey Corps from the real problem. Dead friends and comrades. And the importance. Which was stopping the Titans at all costs.
"Okay fine they could be fun, but I don't want to be responsible when some, if not all, of them die right before my eyes! I can handle it!" Silence fell over the room.
"Besides," You said softly. "Levi's a squad leader, why don't you give him a squad if you need one so badly?" The tension in the room subsided but only by a fraction. Levi had pushed off the wall and was standing next to you at the mention of his name.
"Well," Erwin rubbed his neck, deep in thought. "I'd never thought of that..." He turned his gentle blue eyes away from yours and onto Levi's. "You've been here for long enough and you've been a squad leader for almost half a year but I'd never considered giving you a squad. Do you feel up to the challenge Levi?"
"I don't like being the leader. It puts too much pressure on me." He said in a complete deadpan. You thought for a moment you saw pain flash in his eyes and you realized what he was thinking about.
"It's fine Levi. You're a natural leader and our soldiers aren't stupid. They know what they've signed up for." You reasoned with him. Grabbing his arm and leaning on his shoulder for support.
"If you feel that way, Levi, they we can assign your squad as a special ops squad. You can choose who you want. The best lead by the best." Erwin proposed, his thick eyebrows pulled down, studying Levi's reaction. He didn't give one. Well at least, not one visible to Hanji and Erwin. You saw his face filled with conflict and you could almost see his eye reliving the horrors he'd seen with people under his leadership.
No wonder he didn't have a squad yet, he never asked for one. It's more of a request thing than a privilege once you become a squad leader. But you saw him push away his doubts and turn... What was the word? The only one you can think of was cold. Levi turned cold.
"If that's the case I'll take your offer Erwin." Levi gently pulled his arm out of your grasp and walked out the door.
Hanji looked confused. Her eyes darted from you to Erwin. "What was all that about?" Your eyes were still on the door, the last place Levi was before his disappeared from your sight. You looked back at Erwin and he nodded at you to go follow him. "I'll tell you later Hanji..." You spoke softly as you walked out the door.
You knew exactly where to find Levi. No one, not even himself, knew him better than you.
You pushed the door open to his personal chambers and found him, as expected sitting on the floor beside his desk, the drawer was open.
"Levi?" You called him softly. He did not look up at you and he said nothing. At this, you walked into his room and sat down behind him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders in a comforting hug from behind and looked at what he was holding in his right hand.
You had seen him do this before, when a battle was over and some bodies recovered, you'd see him kneeling next to the dead. Keeping a piece of their memory for himself. In his hand he held two patches, each had the insignia of the wings of freedom. And the names, in clear patchwork.
"Isabel" and "Farlan" were the names on the patches. Your memories wandered and you recalled their faces. Always next to Levi, Isabel always laughing, Farlan always seriously contented.
You knew how to mend a broken leg. But nothing except time can mend a broken heart. You did not know what to say. What could you say?
You decided just to keep touching him. Keeping him tethered to your world while he wandered off in his mind. No doubt reliving memories, both good and bad. You gently took his face in your hands and gently caressed his cheek. You moved to his neck, the back of his head, and his shoulders, fingers moving gently over his pale but smooth skin.
You sat with him like that until the last trace of sunlight could be seen outside his window. When you saw the light disappear, you pulled on his shoulders and shirt to get him to stand up with you and the two of you moved onto his bed. You lay facing him, still gently caressing his face while his eyes stared at nothing.
Eventually he closed his eyes and fell asleep, you cuddled into his chest and in his sleep he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer to him.
You woke up a couple of times during the night when you felt Levi tensing up, his mind fighting him in his sleep, showing him things he tried very hard to forget. Each time this happened, you just massaged his shoulders, reliving his tension, until he fell back into a dreamless sleep.
You didn't get a lot of sleep that night but once Levi woke up in the morning you finally started to relax. He chuckled when he saw your tired form. "what did I do to deserve you (First)?" He asked, pressing his lips to your forehead. Your eyes were slamming shut and he smiled, pulling you even closer to him and whispering low and in your ear.
"Thank you." He sighed against your head, shifting against you so you were in a more comfortable position. "I'm going to take the day off. Go to sleep (First)."
And you listened.

[Chapter 1] No Regrets [Levi x Fem!Reader]
“Hey! You! Get back here!” a plump, middle-aged man wearing an apron yells as you sprint down the street. His words only make you run faster, but as you speed up, you can hear his steps starting to slow until finally, he comes to a complete stop. A string of curses race after you, but his vulgar language doesn’t faze you. All you care about is not getting caught, so when your eye catches an indent in the wall of buildings, and after one final glance back to make sure the man isn’t following you, you slink from the desolate streets into an abandoned alleyway. Sliding your back against the wall, you gulp in some much nee

'Rapunzel' Levi Ackerman x Reader
Deep in the forest, over the mountains, across many rivers and far, far away from humanities eyes was a tower. It was a cobblestone spire so tall, so grand, that not even birds dare fly as high; that even the titans that inhabited the land below nearly resembled ants. Very few had seen the tower up close, only but a mere twig in the distance from any village or town's point of view. No one knew why the tower was built, but they knew of the rumors to whom it held.
You.
You grew up in the tower, all alone. You didn't know how you got there, or why, but you'd been there since you were a child. All you had to keep you company were fairy-tale

You fist the covers and pull it over your mouth, shivering. The cold is starting to seep through the blanket, and despite your body forming a ball, it’s still cold. You let out a huff of annoyance, and your eyes shoot open. Isabel is resting peacefully beside you, and Farlan has his back turned to her. The steady rise and fall of his shoulders tells you that he’s sleeping as well.
If only I could sleep insouciantly like them. You muse to yourself, turning so that you are facing away from them. You expect to see Levi’s back, but you are met with nothing but the rumpled sheets where he once slept. Gingerly, you roll onto your

Levi is actually 36. But we can change that. It's your story.
